Whether you’re a sky-watcher, astrology lover, or just someone who enjoys a jaw-dropping moment in the cosmos, this is a night you don’t want to miss.
What Makes a Blood Moon Happen?
A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs when Earth moves directly between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow that blocks sunlight from reaching the Moon. Instead of going completely dark, the Moon takes on a red hue due to Earth’s atmosphere scattering shorter wavelengths of light and allowing only the longer red wavelengths to reach the Moon. This effect, known as Rayleigh scattering, is the same reason our sunsets appear fiery red!
