If today feels a little more emotionally charged than usual, there may be a reason.

On September 15, Venus in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius — an intense astrology transit that can bring relationships, attachment, desire, money, self-worth and power dynamics closer to the surface.

Venus shows us what we value, love and want.

Pluto asks us to look underneath.

Together, they can reveal where something has more emotional power over us than we realized.

And with Venus also making a challenging connection to Neptune today, there is another layer to consider:

Am I responding to what is actually happening — or to what I fear, hope or imagine is happening?

This isn’t a transit to fear.

It’s one to become more conscious within.

I pulled three tarot cards to help us move through it:

Three of Swords • Five of Swords • The Star

And their message is beautifully clear:

Feel it. Don’t feed it. Let it heal.

Three of Swords — Acknowledge What Hurts

The Three of Swords doesn’t ask us to pretend something didn’t affect us.

A conversation may sting.

An old wound may get touched.

Something we thought we were finished with may unexpectedly surface again.

Today, give yourself permission to acknowledge the feeling without immediately trying to fix it.

You don’t have to minimize it.

And you don’t have to force yourself into positivity before you’ve had a chance to understand what hurts.

Ask yourself:
What is this feeling actually touching in me?

Five of Swords — Don’t Let the Hurt Choose Your Response

This may be the most important card of the day.

When emotions are heightened, the Five of Swords warns against allowing the wound to start making decisions.

We may want to:

Prove a point.
Replay the conversation.
Defend ourselves immediately.
Assume the worst.
Get the final word.
Try to regain control.

But not every battle is worth your peace.

Your feelings can be valid without every reaction needing to become an action.

Sometimes the most powerful question is:

Do I really want to give this any more of my energy?

The Star — Return to What Heals

And then comes The Star.

After the hurt of the Three of Swords and the mental tension of the Five of Swords, The Star reminds us that there is something beyond this moment.

Perspective.

Hope.

Gentleness.

Healing.

The Star doesn’t deny what happened.

It simply reminds us that we don’t have to stay there.

Take a walk.

Journal.

Step away from the conversation.

Do something that brings you back into your own energy.

You don’t have to figure everything out today.

Sometimes clarity comes after the emotional wave has passed.

Who May Feel Venus Square Pluto Most?

This transit may feel especially noticeable for Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus and Leo, particularly for people with early-degree placements in those signs.

That doesn’t mean everyone else is unaffected.

We all have Scorpio and Aquarius somewhere in our birth charts, so this transit may reveal something about attachment, relationships, self-worth, control, desire or where we’re giving away too much power.

Aries may also notice an extra layer of sensitivity or uncertainty because of Venus’s connection with Neptune.

A Little Guidance for Every Sign

Aries: Slow the reaction. Give yourself time to see clearly.

Taurus: Notice where comfort may have become attachment.

Gemini: Not every thought deserves another round of analysis.

Cancer: Feel what comes up without making it your permanent home.

Leo: Someone else’s response does not determine your worth.

Virgo: Not every emotion needs solving. Some need compassion first.

Libra: Notice where keeping the peace may be costing you your own.

Scorpio: Feel deeply, but ask whether intensity is giving something too much power.

Sagittarius: Step back. A wider perspective may change the story.

Capricorn: Control and security are not always the same thing.

Aquarius: Be honest about what is changing within you.

Pisces: Trust your sensitivity — but check the facts before making the feeling a conclusion.

The Message for Today

Three of Swords: Acknowledge what hurts.
Five of Swords: Don’t let the hurt choose your response.
The Star: Return to what heals.

Whatever today brings, the goal isn’t to avoid feeling it.

It’s to move through it without handing the feeling all of your power.

Feel it. Don’t feed it. Let it heal.

And perhaps ask yourself:

What am I giving too much power to — and what would happen if I gently took some of that power back?

Return to Yourself

Tarot isn’t about handing your power over to the cards. It’s about creating enough space to hear yourself more clearly.

If this message resonates, you can explore that idea more deeply in Truth Tarot: A Return to Yourself.
